Communications stood nearly motionless at the head of the translucent black spaceship, lit only by the faint purple life-light of the dormant vessel. The young one had darkened his membrane many years past and saw no reason to shed his own light now. Form after form of data grew up from the smooth crystal consol before him and flowed by his headless body. Screaming drifted up from the forest floor, threatening to shatter the century old glass of the arched window that stared out over the scene.
